Connector (Maricella Ruvalcaba)!!!!!!!!

"I came here to tell you I've decided to go to work"..."When Kiku told me about you, i hoped so much that you would call"(Littell 101). Hana got the opportunity to work for Ellen Davis, doing housework every Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mrs. Davis was kind enough to even let Hana take baby Mary and offered her to use he kids playpen. She chooses to work so that she could be able to help Taro out with the rent and help Taro out with the rent and help pay back the womens society money. Hana is very lucky to have a kind white lady accept her in her house to do housework. This event ties in to todays society and even back when slavery was here. I know someone whos relative was forced to do housework for a family although forced she enjoyed it and saved up for her daughters college.

Mr. Nishima's terrible needs, agony
"It was as though I were being sucked into a whirlpool; he explained bleakly. I was so far behind in my studies, I couldn't begin to catch up, there were exams and papers due, and then there was the extra money I was trying to earn for the Sunday school"(Littell 111). Kenji Nishima could not take the stress, the agony nor the terrible strain he had on his shoulders. We all know at least someone who had sone through this or maybe it was you yourself. I know I get stressed and depressed because of all my work I have to do; at times we can just collapse from the srain but eventually we get back up.

Hana offers to help Nishima out by kindly taking him into her home. "He can come stay with us for the summer, I'll move Mary into our room and he can have hers. I will feed him good nourishing food, and Taro and i will elp him restore himself"(Littell 112). Hana believed that this was the right thing to do, she was not only doing it for Nishima but for herself. It was a chance to offer help and support to a human being in need and to bring some purpose and meaning into her own life. She wants to give Nishima the life she could not give to Kiyoshi Yamaka. I Believe that Hana really takes him in because she feels asif it is her fault that Yamka died, she listened to Taro and never seen Yamaka till he got sick; she was to late. This event that takes place in Chapter 14 connects to my family. My parents kindly took in a close friend. She had alot going on in her life and needed a place to get her self back together, this is very similar to the event in chapter 14 that happens.
